*The Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI )classifies the Pomeranian as the smallest
variety of the German Spitz  breed.

They are known as the Zwergspitz (`Dwarf` Spitz), or Toy German Spitz.

The FCI height standard for Zwergspitz/Pomeranians is 18-22 cm.
